Commission a watercolor sketch, $95
I love drawing and painting people. I especially love drawing and painting people in motion, doing ordinary things, experiencing a particular moment in time. For me, one of the most effective ways of remembering a specific brief experience and all the feelings and emotions that go with it is to capture it with a watercolor or gouache sketch based on a photo or two. The loose fluidity of watercolors allows me to effectively capture the movement, the feel, and the surroundings of a split second without getting bogged down in details.
Based on photos you provide via email, I will create an original painted sketch for you! Using watercolors, gouache, and maybe ink, I'll capture a special moment featuring your person/people. For the best results, posed photos are NOT recommended; rather, photos of people just being people, doing people stuff, are the best for capturing the essence of a person and creating lasting memories. Pets are welcome too! Each watercolor sketch measures 8" x 11" and is painted on archival watercolor paper. It will be securely packaged in an acid free clear sleeve and sent via USPS. Allow at least 2 weeks for your original sketch to be completed.
Below are a few examples of some of my original watercolor sketches.
To order your own, use the placeholder image here, to the right. After you've ordered and paid for your sketch, I'll contact you via email asking for your reference photo. Please remember, these are not meant to be photo realistic renderings or portraits. I am not a portrait artist. But if you want to capture the feel and essence of a person or people experiencing a moment in time, then I'm your person!
