A lovely, brief summer moment spent with my sweet grandson. Shortly after this scene occurred we released the little painted turtle into a nearby wetland but l captured it in this 5 color reduction block print.

This is NOT a computer generated image. Rather, a single linoleum block is carved away a bit more for each color printed, and each color ink must line up atop the previous color. It’s a very old, complex, labor intensive process but one which always results in a unique piece of art.

This is one print of a limited edition of 22 and since the block was mostly carved away in the process it can never be printed again.

Details: Image is approximately 8" x 7". Hand printed in oil based Calgio inks on heavyweight BFK Rives paper; signed, titled, numbered.
